G-418 inhibits protein elongation by blocking polypeptide synthesis. Eukaryotic cells that are stably transfected with neomycin resistance genes can be selected and maintained using this product. Similar in structure to Gentamicin, Neomycin, and Kanamycin.

G-418 has been tested against both sensitive and resistant cells.  Recommended for use as a selection agent at 100-800 μg/ml.

G418 Disulfate solution is at 50mg/ml in water and is shipped on dry ice to ensure quality.
