Valnemulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic derived from pleuromutilin that has broad spectrum of actitivity, particularly gram-positive bacteria. Valnemulin has wide spectrum of anti-mycoplasma in the cell culture media.

Valnemulin inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by binding to the peptidyl transferase component of the 50S subunit of ribosomes.
