Sulfathiazole is a sulfonamide active against both gram-positive and gram-negative. It inhibits folic acid production which halts DNA synthesis in non-resistant cells. Sulfonamide will be catalyzed to competitive combine with the pteridine in stead of the PABA in synthesis of folic acid, inhibiting produce of folic acid.
