2xYT medium is a standard nutrient media for maintaining and propagating Escherichia coli and M13 bacteriophage.

Formula: per liter: Peptone 20g, Yeast Extract 10g, Glucose 20g.
Usage: dissolve 50g of mix in 1 liter of water, adjust PH to 6.8, autoclave at 121oC for 15 min.
Storage: in tightly-closed container at room teperature.

Contents:

  • NaCl 5 g
  • Tryptone 16 g
  • Yeast Extract 10 g

Use:

Dissolve 31 g of mix in 1 liter of water, adjust pH if desired, autoclave to sterilize.

Storage:

  • Tightly closed at room temperature.
