Aldolase

Purified: 2X Crystallized. A suspension in 2.1M ammonium sulfate, pH 7.8.

Activity: ≥10 units per mg protein

Store: 2 to 8 °C stable for 6 months

The enzyme is irreversibly denatured at pH values lower than 4.5. A crystalline suspension in ammonium sulfate solution, pH 7.6.

Aldolase catalyzes a key reaction in glycolysis and energy production.

One Unit causes an increase of 1.0 A240 per minute at 25°C, pH 7.5 with the hydrazine/3-phosphoglyceraldehyde assay (Jagannathan et al., Biochem. J., 63 94, 1956).
