MircoMesh

Each box contains 20 MircoMesh

Mesh filled apertures with diameters of 400 or 700 μm and mesh openings of 10, 25 and 50 μm.

The first three have 400 μm diameter heads and mesh openings of 50 μm, 25 μm and 10 μm, respectively. The fourth has a 700 μm diameter head with 25 μm mesh openings (abbreviated as 25L above). These are available in single-size boxes or as an assortment.

Please allow 2 weeks for shipping for pin lengths 11, 19 and 25mm, which are not commonly used and need to be custom made.

MicroMeshes™ are ideal for very small (<30 μm) samples, allowing them to be sieved out of solution. They also provide continuous and delicate support for, e.g., thin plates, rods and tissue samples.

MicroMeshes are the tool of choice for microcrystal crystallography and diffraction experiments, especially at microfocus beamlines. They have been used in de novo protein structure determination from crystals as small as 5 µm. Multiple small samples can be retrieved and mounted together, spread out over the mesh. The diffraction properties of each sample can be separately interrogated using a small (<100 μm) X-ray beam. Dip into your drop and shoot to evaluate the results of early crystallization trials.

The polymer tips are attached to beveled non-magnetic 0.025" (0.64 mm) diameter stainless steel rods. Compatible with all standard X-ray hardware, they can be inserted into 0.7 mm mechanical pencils or micromanipulators for easy handling.
