Peptone

Peptone is an enzymatically (gastric-enzymes) produced protein derivative (hydrolysate), composed primarily of peptides and amino acids that are used in the cell culture including that of bacteria, yeast, fungus and mammalian cells. Peptone has also been shown to improve cell growth and viability in mammalian cultures in both serum containing and serum-free media (SFM). Meat derived peptone enhances hybridoma growth and monoclonal antibody production.
