Coelenterazine is a luminophore of the native aequorin complex. Renilla luciferase substrate. Calcium detection and monitoring of reporter genes. Studies in bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET), ELISA, HTS and chemiluminescent detection of superoxide anion and peroxynitrite in cells or tissues.

Note:  Coelenterazine 400a is the preferred Rluc substrate for BRET studies. This coelenterazine derivative generates a blue emission between 390 nm and 400 nm which has minimal interference with the emission of the GFP acceptor.
